Job Title: IT Project Manager

The main function of a Project Manager is to define requirements, plan, track, and manage projects in a demanding environment.
•Identify and estimate project resources, schedule delivery, and task details.
•Budget for and manage project costs.
•Manage business partner and supplier involvement throughout project.
•Manage change, project deliverables, and project direction while adhering to Caterpillar’s standard project management methodology.
•Strong verbal and written communication skills, problem solving skills, organizational, customer service and interpersonal skills.
•Basic ability to work independently and manage oneÂ’s time as well as being a collaborative team member.Proven experience with project management concepts, including project charters, scheduling and planning projects within Primavera or experience or training using tools to manage projects, such as Microsoft Project or Excel.
•Proven ability to work with Enterprise-wide program managers and project leads.
•Strong project leadership and decision-makingBusiness planning/processes, accounting, and change management acumen.
•Training in project management or project management related skills, such as Young & Clark and Associates or Project Management InstituteÂ’s PMP certification.
•2-6 yearsÂ’ project management experience required. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent training required.
•In the role of Release Manager you will be responsible for implementing and managing release processes for the progression of software code in the development, test, and production environments.
•The Release Manager Job function works collaboratively with all participants in software development projects and is supportive of developers and testers as they set up their development, QA testing environments.
•The Release Management responsibilities also include building the IT Release Calendar.
•The Release Manager will assist in managing projects and interdependencies to ensure milestone adherence and process execution to ensure the integrity of the release can be measured.
Primary Job Duties:
•Decides if/when to move to the next steps in a deployment pipeline Maintains and enforces deployment checklist Assumes responsibilities for coordinating the entire release and attends triage meetings Understands background context of all work included in a release Point for all communications between developer, testers, release engineering, and marketing on the actual release day
Attend a lot of meeting/facilitate those meetings. This is a highly collaborative role.
•Demonstrated ability to coordinate cross-functional work teams toward task completion.
•Demonstrated effective leadership and analytical skills.
•Advanced written and verbal communication skills are a must.
•Ability to make and own difficult decisions under pressure.
•Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field. 2-6 years of previous release and/or project management experience required (must be professional experience), (Solid understanding of project management principles preferred).
•Strong knowledge of software development lifecycle.
•Experience with Azure platform is helpful (Visual Studio Team Services, Release Management, Azure IaaS offerings, Azure PaaS offerings) would be a plus.
